BOEGEF community moment
About us

Our Story

Who We Are.

The Benedicta Olaiya Educational/Grassroots Empowerment Foundation (BOEGEF) started in the year 2003, as our contribution towards reducing the unemployment rate in Nigeria by encouraging entrepreneurship through our vocational skills acquisition programme. The Foundation was officially registered in 2010 by the Federal Government of Nigeria. As of today, the Foundation has successfully trained thousands of youths in different areas of skill and vocational expertise.

Born out of a desire to give back to the community and to reduce the level of unemployment and poverty; the foundation has so far been successful. Obviously no country with a population as high as Nigeria's can readily provide jobs for all of its growing number of school leavers; therefore the number of unemployed people dropping out of schools will continue to increase daily, unless individuals are empowered with entrepreneurial skills.

BOEGEF is a people oriented initiative providing practical vocational, technical & entrepreneurial training for unemployed youths & small business owners. The activities of the Foundation have been carefully designed to help aspiring youths reach their goals, through acquisition of practical entrepreneurial and vocational / technical skills.

Though said, that Vocational and Technical Training is the engine for technological and economic development; the development of this area of education is just beginning to clearly emerge in Nigeria.

Our Vision

Our immediate vision is to train a few hundred youths annually, and encourage them to pass on the knowledge. Our broader vision is to have collaborations that will enable us open centers of this foundation in every state in Nigeria.
